Corinne Urquhart

Corinne is a registered Teacher (RTS) with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) as well as a registered Dance/Movement Therapist with the Dance Therapy Association of Australia (DTAA). Educated in Switzerland she is a qualified Primary and Special Education Teacher. Corinne also completed a Masters in ‘Media Arts & Production’ at UTS, Sydney.
She has danced professionally and toured internationally with the production ‘Dayuma’ in the USA. In Sydney, Corinne directed the independent contemporary dance company ‘Emotive Arts’ for over 14 years. She and hosted ‘Splash’, a ten-year anniversary concert in 2010. Her choreographic works are either life performances and/or dance films. She often implements collaborative art and installations into her work. Her dance and film works have been shown at the Marrickville Film Festival, Project Dance Sydney and Brisbane, Sydney Fringe Festival (Platform Shorts Productions), Creative Conversation on Global Warming at the Annandale Creative Arts Centre, Bodies Production Newtown and Mira Mansell’s Dance Company ‘Entity’, just to mention a few. In 2011 Corinne received the Alumni of the Year award from Wesley Institute. The Production ‘Platform Shorts 2012’ received the Sydney Fringe Award for Best Dance Production, of which Corinne was the Artistic Director.
